Police Arrest Suspect In Domestic Dispute Case

A domestic dispute resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old Prescott man.

According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator with the Prescott Police Department and Nevada County Sheriff's Office, Jerome Johnson had a bad night Sunday, Oct. 27.

It began when he got involved in a domestic dispute on West Vine. PPD Sgt. Walt DeYoung and officer Wayne Sorrells responded to the call at 10:51 p.m.

When they arrived, the suspect had left the scene. He was later found asleep in his car at his home, the Ellis Trailer Park.

At this point, the officers took him into custody and to the Nevada County Jail, where he was charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicating alcohol or drugs, refusing to take a breath test and third degree battery.

Further investigation into the matter ended up with Johnson being charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief in the first degree.
