The Henderson State University School of Education `break the mold' Teacher Professional Development Partnrship sponsored a `hot topics' mini- conference on Friday, October 25, at Garrison Conference Center.

This year's theme was `Education: Bridge to the Future.' The conference featured the bridge to continued professional growth for teachers.

Urban Ray, HSU graduate and Kansas City teacher, was the keynote speaker and discussed the concept of multiple intelligences in developing teacher strategies that will help all students reach their greatest potential.

HSU teacher interns developed the conference agenda and facilitated 17 sessions that ran throughout the day.

Presenters included Billie Haynie and Donna Marlar, who are the president and vice president of the Parents and Teachers as Partners organization in the Prescott School District.

Haynie and Marlar presented a session entitled: `Parents and Teachers: The Essential Link.'

Facilitators for this session were Michelle Ezell, Teiri Slatton, Kelly Cornelius, Loretta Fort and Julie Huntly, who are completing their teacher internship in the Prescott School District.

Drs. Kenneth Harris, Johnnie Roebuck, Ana Caldwell and Sue Warner, HSU teacher education faculty members, coordinated the fall conference.
