Open House For ASMSPublished Wednesday, November 13, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesThe Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences is sponsoring an open house on November 16 and 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. The purpose of the open house is to encourage prospective students and their families to visit the school and to see the campus and tour the facilities. A geographical time schedule is set up to allow for travel and to extend the time available for the tours. Prospective students and their families who live in the following counties are encouraged to come on Saturday, November 16, between the hours 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Garland, Montgomery, Polk, Howard, Pike, Clark, Dallas, Little River, Sevier, Hempstead, Nevada, Ouachita, Miller, Lafayette, Columbia, Union, Hot Spring, Grant, Saline, Pulaski. Other counties will have different visiting hours on a different day. If the prospective student and his family cannot make it at their reserve time and would like to come at another time during the weekend call 1-800-345-2767 to reserve a spot. A residential high school first opening in 1993, ASMS' purpose is to educate Arkansas' gifted and talented mathematics and sciences students, and to develop curriculum and materials to improve instruction in mathematics and sciences for all students in Arkansas.
