Roy Howard Bailey

Roy Howard Bailey, 68, of St. Charles, Mo., died Thursday, July 15, 1999, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Rosston October 15, 1930, to Alton and Ellen Bailey, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Venia M. Bailey. He was member of First Baptist Church in St. Charles, Mo., a member of Masonic Lodge for 40 years, Easter Star and Fraternal Order of Police Officers. He was retired from the St. Charles Police Department, who provided an honor guard at the funeral home, rotating shifts every 15 minutes.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Bailey of St. Charles; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Rod Campbell of St. Charles, Mo., two sisters brothers-in-law, Joyce Elvern and Paul Ridling of Magnolia and Dorothy Arlis East of Fordyce; four grandchildren, Kyle, Page and Kendel Jo Campbell and Alayna Bailey of all of St. Charles. He is also survived by a special friend and loving companion, Bonnie Ketcham.

A Masonic Memorial Service was held Monday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at Baue Funeral Home of St. Charles.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 20, in the Baue Chapel with Rev. David Sheppard and Rev. Arlis East officiating. A motorcade of 12 police cars led the funeral procession to St. Charles Memorial Gardens for the burial, which was under the direction of Baue Funeral Home of St. Charles.
