Recertification Needed For Pesticides

Published Wednesday, November 20, 1996 in the Gurdon Times

If you have been a private applicator of Restricted Use Pesticides in the past, you may need to be recertified this fall, according to Ron Matlock, staff chairman of the County Extension Service.

He says that one should refer to his 1996 license for the recertification required by date. If your license expiries in 1996, you do need to attend a training session.

The Clark County training session will be Monday, December 9, at 6:00 p.m. at the EHC Building at the Clark County Fairgrounds. This building is in back of the commercial building.

If you cannot attend this meeting, but need to be recertified, you may attend a recertification in another county.

If you watched a video at your Extension office in 1996 as your method of certification, you must attend a training session before you can be licensed.

If your permit does not expire in 1996, all you need to do is return your application fee to the State Plant Board. Matlock says you should do this when you receive the application and allow four to six weeks for your application to be processed.

This training is designed for persons who produce a farm product and not for homeowners.

If you have questions concerning the private applicator permit for restricted use pesticides, call the Extension Office at 246-2281.
