RosstonPublished Wednesday, July 28, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams We need to pray for rain. Everything is getting so dry. Vegetables will soon all be gone. Roscoe and I went to Little Rock Sunday afternoon to Baptist Medical Center, where he had a sleep apnea test that night. Our sister-in-law, Minnie Ella Schmitt, of Hope went with us. Please pray for Roscoe. Maxine Luck went to one of her doctors in Texarkana last week. Sue Dixon went to a doctor in Hot Springs last week. Roscoe and I visited with her on Saturday afternoon and she was feeling much better. She has a sleeping problem too. Laura Ward went to her doctor in Arkadelphia this week. The new baby will be here soon. By the way, we don't have a new pastor in Rosston. Bro. Petie is still here. The Baptist Trumpet just made an error. I'm sure it was the first ever. Bro. Bowman's wife of Bodcaw is doing much better after her trip to Baptist Medical Center. Roscoe and I attended the revival at Bluff Springs two nights last week. Bro. Jerry Evans preached on Thursday night. Jerry's parents, Dail and Marjorie Evans attended that night. We also heard Bro. I.V. Hight on Friday night. They both preached great messages, but I'm sure the other preachers did each night. Ruth Vinson attended with us on Friday night. We have a new family moving into the Pete Morman house. They are from McNeil. Visit them when you can. I've also heard that Charles Biddle has sold the new house he built to a retired couple from Texas. They are relatives of the Dean Bradley's, their daughter and son-in-law, I think. Ted and Amy Morman are spending a few weeks with their mother in Pine Bluff. We miss them at church. Bro. Jerry Evans and Dot spent the day at Union Grove Baptist Church. Bro. Jerry delivered the homecoming sermon. They visited with his mother and dad, Dail and Marjorie Evans, on their way home and attended church with them at Whites Chapel. Jeff and Tara Carlton and children attended church at little Bodcaw Sunday and sang at homecoming service. Jim Dixon has not been feeling well this week and will go to his doctor in Texarkana tomorrow. Alan and Kere Russo are going to Tampa, Fla., this next weekend. They plan to move there later to work. Roscoe and I attended the beautiful open house and ribbon-cutting of the new Arkansas Revenue Office in Prescott on Wednesday. Many of the ladies who Booie Williams works with in the Southwest District attended and all brought food. The table was beautiful and lots of good food left over. Granddaughter, Tori, and great granddaughter, Kathryn Rocole, attended from Magnolia. There was also a good turnout from Prescott. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
