Ministerial Alliance Sets Thanksgiving Services

Published Wednesday, November 20, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

Prescott Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring its annual community- wide Thanksgiving service Sunday afternoon, November 24, at 4:00.

The services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 201 East Main Street.

The community service has a three-fold purpsoe: first, to worship God and express thanks to Him for what He has done for us; second, to allow the Prescott community to come together in a Godly atmosphere to have good fellowship with one another; and third, to receive offerings to enable our participating churches to provide limited funds to those traveling through to make it further down the road.

The Ministerial Alliance only provides food or gasoline to those folks who are just passing through and need help. Before aid is given, the travelers are asked to submit their driver's license to the police for a routine check of their background. This keeps most of the people honest in their request for help.

In a year's time the alliance will help 600 to 700 people traveling to all points of the United States.

It is your financial help that allows Prescott to be known as "good samaritans."

"The service is always excellent," according to a news release, "and provides some of Prescott's best talent in praising our Lord and Savior. We hope you will mark your calendar for Sunday, November 24, 4:00 p.m., First Baptist Church."
