James Newton DanielPublished Wednesday, November 20, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneJames Newton Daniel, 78, of Prescott died Saturday, November 16, 1996, in Laneburg. Born February 4, 1916, in Laneburg, he was a retired sales manager for Arkansas Power and Light, a veteran of World War II, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Prescott. Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Christian of Little Rock; one brother, Gatley Daniel of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Rebecca Daniel of Prescott and Bernice Hammonds of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; two grandchildren; and one great grandson. Services were held Monday, November 18, at First Presbyterian Church in Prescott with Janet Ruark officiating. Burial was in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Prescott.
