Christmas Parade SaturdayPublished Wednesday, December 4, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesSanta Claus will be making his first official visit to Gurdon Saturday, during "Christmas in Gurdon." A parade has been planned to go along with the business promotion in downtown Gurdon. The parade is scheduled for 10 a.m., while the promotions will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. First and second prizes will be awarded to the best floats in the Christmas parade. In addition, there will be a drawing for a $100 and two $50 gift certificates. Entry boxes for the gift certificates will be placed in local downtown stores. The drawing will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday at Kuhn's Sentry Hardware. Merchants are encouraged to have special sales and promotions during the event. All local churches, businesses, organizations and schools are urged to take part in the parade with decorated cars or floats.
