Police Make Arrests In Forgery CasesPublished Wednesday, December 4, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneForgeries kept the Prescott Police Department busy last week. Cheryl Ann Edwards, 32, of Portland, Oregon was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 27 after attempting to cash a second forged check at the Bank of Prescott. According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator with the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and PPD, Edwards had cashed one check at the Bank of Prescott on the account of Henry Hale for $120 on Nov. 22. When she attempted to cash the second check, on Nov. 27, bank personnel notified Westmoreland and PPD Chief Willie Latin. By the time they arrived at the bank, she was gone. They located her in the High Meadow Housing Authority area, where she was arrested on probable cause. Alma J. Henry, 39, of Prescott, was also arrested by Westmoreland and Latin for second degree forgery, three counts. She was picked up at the local Pizza Hut on an outstanding warrant.
