Johnston and Flemons matched up with pass-catch on the next play for the first down at the Atkins 17.

Marlow gained eight yards on the next and then Stafford got the first down at the one.

Vanhook then went over for the TD. The point after try, this time by Mike Fountain, missed again, but Prescott led 24-7 with 8:38 left in the game.

Atkins couldn't make a first down, thanks in part to a Flemons sack, so the Devils punted back to Prescott. On second down Johnston's pass for intercepted for a turnover.

Once more the Red Devils were stopped by Prescott's outstanding defensive efforts. This time Flemons got a bigger sack of Taylor. Atkins' punt went to Johnson, who was stopped in Atkins territory.

Stafford almost went 47 yards for another TD on the first play, but he was stopped at the 14.

Vanhook then was stopped for no gain and Duke rushed for three yards. Vanhook then took the ball to the three on a second effort for a first down.

A short count not only surprised the Atkins defense, but the officials as well as they were late signaling a TD when Johnston went over with no count. The Red Devils were just stopped cold. This time Fountain's kick split the uprights and Prescott led 31-7 with 2:35 left in the game.

Enter the reserves with their fresh jerseys.

Nine plays later the Red Devils managed their second score as McFarland went in for the TD. A 2-point effort failed.

Stafford was Prescott's leading rusher with 63 yards from scrimmage on seven plays. Marlow finished with 51 yards and Vanhook had 41 on offense. Vanhook also had 21 and a TD on defense. In all he scored three touchdowns.

The game's leading rusher, of course, was McFarland with 82 yards on 15 carries.

Johnston attempted 12 passes, completing four for 70 yards. Flemons caught three passes for 56 yards. Johnston threw one interception.

Taylor attempted 30 passes for Atkins. He completed 14 for 88 yards. He also threw three interceptions and had 13 to fall incomplete.

Prescott finished with 15 first downs to 13 for Atkins.

The Wolves were penalized seven times for 70 yards. Atkins was penalized four times for 25 yards.

This week the long drive to Osceola should be well worth it for Prescott fans, as the Curley Wolves are looking more and more like a championship team. They definitely will need your support at Osceola.
