Miller Takes Team

Published Wednesday, December 11, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

Charles Miller Jr., well-known to citizens of Prescott as a long-time employee of Pizza Hut, is headed to Toronto, Canada, late in January as a member of Arkansas's Special Olympics floor hockey team.

The competition will be preceded by four days of team practice this month at Lake Placid, N.Y.

Miller is a client at the Nevada County Day Service Center.

He has participated in the past on several Special Olympics floor hockey and softball teams with athletes from Magnolia Specialized Services. This is his first competition at the World Special Olympics level.

Miller and Cedric Marks, his outreach worker from NCDSC, have been working diligently on body-building, endurance training and good nutrition ever since the invitation to be on this team arrived.

Miller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Albert Miller of North Little Rock.
