Program Seeks PhotosPublished Wednesday, December 11, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesThe Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, is seeking submissions of photographs of historic Arkansas properties for its 1998 Historic Arkansas Calendear, AHPP Director Cathy Slater announced December 6. "The 1998 Historic Arkansas calendar will again highlight the skills of our Arkansas shutterbugs and the beauty of our historic properties," Slater said. "We were extermely happy with the submission for the 1997 calendar and are looking forward to selecting pictures for 1998." All entries must be of Arkansas properties listed on the National Register of Historiac Places and submitted as color slides. A panel of historians and photographers will select one picture for the cover and an inside page of the calendar; the photographer will receive $500 for the use of the photograph. Eleven other photographers will receive $150 for the use of their pictures and their works will be featured on an inside page of the calendar. All submissions must be postmarked by April 18, 1997. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
