National 4-H Has DisplayPublished Wednesday, December 11, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesThe National 4-H system has been invited to establish a display of peace and friendship from the youth of the United States to the young people of Russia. The display, to become a permanent part of the Friendship Museum in Sochi, Russia, has been collected from 4-H members throughout the United States. All collected items have been made by 4-H members focusing on the joyful creativity of American Youth. The theme for the display is "American Youth, A New Generation." Trey Burchfield, a Clark County 4-H member from Okolona, is representing Arkansas with a collage of Ross Photography photos and a slit oak basket. Montgomery County donated an Arkansas quartz crystal from Mt. Ida. Anyone interested in joining a 4-H club should contact the local County Extension office at 246-2281. 4-H is the youth development program of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service and is open to all boys and girls, nine to nineteen years of age.
