The Gurdon Senior Adult Center Christmas dinner will be Sunday, December 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Chicken and dressing with all the trimmings will be served. The price is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children. Gurdon Basketball Booster Club is now being formed. You may purchase a membership at any home basketball game. Come out and support the Gurdon Go Devils basketball teams and have the opportunity to make a donation, shoot free throws, or shoot a half court shot. Prizes will be awarded. Gurdon High School Class of 1987 will meet Sunday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoo Hoo building to began planning its 10-year class reunion. Registration for 1997 spring semester classes at Ouachita Baptist University will be held Tuesday, January 14, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Evans Student Center and Lile Hall, according to OBU registra Judy Jones. Classes for the semester will begin on Wednesday, January 15. Alcoholics Anonymous has open meetings on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. at the American Legion Building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For information phone 353-6138. The Division of Music and the Department of Theatre Arts of the Bernice Young Jones School of Fine Arts at OBU will present its annual Festival of Christmas program on December 5 and 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing arts Center. Everyone is invited to attend a retirement party for Pat Hasley, Clark County Treasurer, on December 6 in the Clark County courtroom. Following a brief business meeting, Jeannie Whayne, associate professor of history at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and editor of the Arkansas Historical Quarterly, will present the afternoon's program, "Arkansas in the Great Depression." The public is invited. White Oak Lake will be hosting Fun Day on June 29 at 10:00 a.m. The day starts with volleyball, tug-of-war, paddle boat races, casting contest, water balloon toss, sand castle building and a bubble gum blowing contest.
