City, County Contest Winners Are Named

Published Wednesday, December 18, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

Winners in the city home Christmas decorating contest have been named.

Larry and Debbie Abney took top honors for best overall display. Their home is located on Highway 19, and is the last house on the left before Interstate 30.

Sue Inlow's effort was named best lighted display. It can be seen at 304 Sherwood Drive.

Steve and Janis Wren had the best unlighted display at 401 Sherwood Drive, while Dana Fincher (Keaton Fincher) was named best theme display. This can be seen at 126 Ridgewood.

For the county contest, Terry Mulholland had the best lighted display, according to the judges. This display can be seen by going to county road 16, two miles up the gravel road and looking at the log home on the left.

Irma Sue Purtle had the best unlighted display. Her work can be seen by going out Rosston Road and turning right at the Hwy. 53 junction. Her's is the fist house on the right past Hwy. 73 and Harmony Road.

The best overall display was Richard Kenzel's. According to information from the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, his is the house on the right before getting into Rosston, with a yard full of clear lights.
