Producers Must Now RecertifyPublished Wednesday, December 25, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesDavid Goodson, county executive director of Clark County Farm Service Agency (FSA), reminds producers that with the enactment of the Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996, proudcers in some cases are required to certify highly erodible land and wetland conservation only once for the seven-year period 1996 to 2002. In past years, an annual certification was required for highly erodible land and wetland conservation. However, with the new farm bill, a new form for the seven-year certiciation was provided. No update will be needed unless changes are made in the producer's farming operation. Producers are reminded that they are responsible for reporting any changes that would require a new or updated certification. Changes that could require a new certification include farm combinations or divisions, change in owner, operator or other producers or new land broken out. For more information, contact the Clark County FSA at 246-9816 or come by 1030 Village Drive in Arkadelphia. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
