New Industry Opens In Area During 1996

Along with a low unemployment rate, Clark County's economic outlook improved in 1996 with the opening of a new industry.

On May 7, Polycarbon officially opened in the Clark County Industrial Park, with local and area officials on hand for dedication ceremonies.

The Clark County Industrial Council, spearheaded by Rep. Percy Malone, worked more than a year to entice the graphite manufacturing company to locate in the county.

Polycarbon opened hiring 50 people, and quickly expanded, hiring a few more.
