Two Prescott Officers Graduate From AcademyPublished Wednesday, January 1, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayunePatrolmen Larry J. Grayson and Kristi L. Hillery of the Prescott Police Department were two of 93 officers who participated in basic police training class 96-D at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Traing Academy in East Camden recently. The 12-week, 480-hour course, which began September 30, included instruction in standard police tactics, firearms, legal, educational, technical skills and practical exercises. In each course, emphasis is placed upon the officers achieving excellence in both academic subjects and firearms training. An officer must maintain an academic score of at least 70% on each examination, and consistently fire at least 80% during firearms training exercises to successfully complete all phases of the course. Graduation ceremonies were conducted December 20 at 10:00 a.m. at S.A.U. Technical College. Grayson is a 1992 graduate of Prescott High School. He resides in Prescott with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Kailani Glass. His parents are Joe and Jan Grayson of Prescott. Hillery is a 1989 graduate of Prescott High School.
