Blood Drive Is Tuesday

American Red Cross Blood Services and the Prescott community will host a blood drive Tuesday, August 10, from 2 to 6 p.m. The blood drive will be held at the Central Baptist Church, 600 East 2nd in Prescott.

Hospital patients across the region need blood and blood products on a daily basis in order to survive. Cancer patients, burn victims, hemophiliacs and those suffering with sickle cell anemia are examples of this.

During the summer months, blood usage has increased due to travel and outdoor activities, attributing to more trauma accidents.

This is the perfect opportunity to make a difference in someone's life by taking the time to donate blood. Your one donation may help as many as four people waiting for a blood transfusion.

You must be a healthy person at least 17 years of age and weighing at least 110 pounds.
