Lamar Dixon Attends CARTI Event

Prescott teen Lamar Dixon, 17, was among young cancer patients and other children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses and their families at their annual Christmas party sponsored by CARTI (Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute) and Arkansas Children's Dreams.

Kids from throughout Arkansas joined their parents and siblings at the event. The CARTI Kids, the Arkansas Children's Dreams Kids and all their siblings each received a gift from Santa Claus, who visited the children after lunch at the Little Rock Hilton.

Gifts for the CARTI Kids were funded through money raised from the Yvonne Richardson Memorial Golf Classic, which is sponsored by the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas and the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association.

CARTI is a not-for-profit radiation therapy organization with centers in Little Rock, Searcy, Mountain Home and Conway. The CARTI Kids are current and former pediatric cancer patients who get together several times a year for activities, including the Christmas party and a summer weekend retreat.

Arkansas Children's Dreams is a non-profit organization which grants the special wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
