Cubettes Split Games

Prescott's Cubette basketball team has split its last two games.

The Cubettes fell to Fountain Lake, while hammering Bismarck.

In the Bismarck contest, played Friday, Jan. 3, the Cubettes pasted the Lady Lions 38-14.

Prescott opened the game by taking a 9-2 lead in the first period, stretching this to a 15-4 margin at the half.

By the end of three, the Cubettes were up 22-10.

Jeanie Haynie dominated the offensive portion of the game as she poured in 27 points, connecting on 12 of 15 shots. She also pulled down nine boards and had five steals.

Natalie Harrell led Bismarck with six.

The Prescott crew was four of six from the line, while their opponents were six of 15.

Some nights it just doesn't pay to take to the hardwood. When Prescott traveled to Fountain Lake Dec. 20, it was one of those nights.

The Cubettes were flat as they dropped their second game of the season 33-22 to the Lady Cobras.

Fountain Lake started the contest with a 13-2 lead as the Prescott team didn't show early.

However, the Cubettes rallied somewhat in the second quarter, but trailed 19-13 at the break. They didn't show again in the third as the Lady Cobras pulled away 29-13.

Traci Graham led the team with 10 points, including two three-pointers. Laura Cowling was one of the few players who came to play as she came off the bench and scored five.

Rebecca Thompson led all scorers with 20 for Fountain Lake.
