Toy Drive Successful

The South Clark County Jaycees had a very successful Toys for Tots Campaign in 1996. They distributed toys to 82 kids in the Gurdon Area. The Toys for Tots Campaign has grown from year to year. In 1995 the Angel Tree was added and 1996 shoes to the needy distriution was added.

The Jaycees would like to say thanks to all local businesses and individuals for particitating in all the campaings. Several individuals from the community helped to organize and distribute the collections.

The Local Chapter made a visit to the Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia, Saturday, December 28 to present Get Well Balloons to patients.

Thursday, January 2, 1997 the Jaycees met to discuse a visitation to the Children's Hospital in Little Rock to take stuffed animals to the children. All interested persons should contact Kenneth Harper.

The Christmas Hayride had to be postponed but will be rescheduled for early 1997.

The Jaycees is a Leadership Training organization, with efforts toward community service.
