Now Seating

Published Wednesday, January 8, 1997 in the Gurdon Times

Bleachers were installed in the new Gurdon High School gymnasium during the Christmas holidays, which means the Go-Devils and Lady Devils will be able to play in their new facility for the remainder of the season. However, fans will have to wait a while longer as the next home game isn't until Jan. 17, when Gurdon hosts Stamps. Dedication ceremonies will be held between the senior girls and boys game, with speakers from the Arkansas Activities Association and Gurdon School Board on hand. Gurdon Superintendent Bobby Smithson said it's been a struggle to get everything done to the gym, but is well pleased with the results. The facility has seating capacity for state tournament games and the district has submitted a bid for the regional tournament.
