Annie Pauline JohnsonPublished Wednesday, August 4, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneAnnie Pauline 'Polly-Ma' Johnson, 83, of Prescott died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. Mrs. Johnson was born July 10, 1916, in Clarksville to John and Annie Underwood Basham. She was a retired nurse's assistant for Nevada County Hospital in Prescott. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Johnson, and by a grandson, James Thomas Birdsong, who died in 1980. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Tommy Birdsong of Prescott; two brothers, Robert Lee Basham and John Basham Jr., both of Gibsland, La.; two sisters, Anna Lou Milam of Prescott and Ruth Hankins of Hope; three grandchildren, John Clayton and Kristin Birdsong of Prescott, Christopher Lyn and Kami Birdsong of Dallas, Texas, and Tamil LaNette and Brian Dickerson of Prescott; and four great grandchildren, Andre and Kaylie Birdsong, Braydon Birdsong and Colton Dickerson. Funeral services were Thursday, July 29, in Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating.
