Kelli ShanklesPublished Wednesday, January 15, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesKelli Khurston (McCain) Shankles, 32, of McCaskill died Tuesday, January 7, 1997, at a Hope hospital. Mrs. Shankles was born April 24, 1964, in Alexandria, La. A graduate of Blevins High School, she was valedictorian of her class. She was also a graduate of Texarkana Community College with a registered nurse degree. She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. She was employed by L.S.U. Medical Center in Sherveport, La. Survivors include her husband, Russell Shankles of McCaskill; two daughters, Holli Harris and Haley Shankles both of McCaskill; her parents, Cecil and Lula McCain of McCaskill; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Millie McCain of McCaskill and Richard and Lisa McCain of Bastrop, La.; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Iva Rhodes of Hope; a number of nephews and nieces and one great niece. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 9, at Ridgeway Baptist Church with Revs. Marty Polston and Dennis Jones officiating.
