Wilbur `Bill' CoplenPublished Wednesday, January 15, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesWilbur Lee `Bill' Coplen, 72, of Gurdon died Monday, January 13, 1997. He was a retired construction manager for Brown and Root Construction Company, a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mary Coplen of Gurdon; three sons, Phillip Coplen of Houston, Texas, and Robert and Charles Coplen both of Gurdon; five daughters, Cynthia Davidson and Ruth Marie Bridges both of Arkadelphia, Barbara McKelvey of Hamburg, Mary Ellen Barfield of Nashville and Sharon Gwen Callison of Donaldson; one brother, James Odelle Coplen of Kountz, Texas; one special nephew, Donald E. Grigg; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Services will be held today, January 15, at 10:00 a.m. in Horne Funeral Home chapel.
