Center Seeking ToysPublished Wednesday, January 15, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneNevada County Day Service Center is beginning the new year with a three percent decrease in state and title XX funds, which is a major funding source of the Day Services services. The staff is hopeful that with Santa having just visited every house in town that children have toys that they have outgrown or become bored with that they would be willing to donate to our pre-school classes. Books and puzzles are especially welcomed gifts as well. Donations of good used toys and books will help the daycare stretch its limited program supply budget. For the protection of the children, make sure that the toys are in good repair and do not have broken parts that could cause injury. Donations can be made at the Day Service Center between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the front office. If needed, a receipt for tax purposes can be issued. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
