It seems that everyone is suffering from heat and need of rain. Twice several in our community have suffered about three hours of power outages.

Harvey and Ruth Barham and son, Harvey Jr., and daughter, Lisa, and three children from Dallas spent several days at their home here and attended the funeral of Ruth's brother-in-law in Texarkana on Saturday.

Shane and Amanda Meador from Murfreesboro attended church at Shady Grove on Sunday and had lunch with his parents, Sid and Sandy Meador.

Randy, Charity and Caleb Lowdermilk made a trip to Shreveport on Monday and picked her mother, Betty Wilson, up at the airport.

Bill and Deanie Luck from Mt. Pleasant, Texas, recently visited her mother, Frances Bidwell.

Ronnie and Terri Vandiver honored their daughter, Megan, on her 13th birthday with a party on Thursday night.

We are happy to have Wesley, Eli and Kelsey Ratcliff now making their home with their daddy, J. B. and Gail Ratcliff.

Toby, Kim and Shelbi Cottingham spent the weekend at Orange Beach having fun.

Fran Swift and Billie Ridling, Terri and Megan Vandiver, Rhonda, Cole and Justin Hillery, Kim and Shelbi Cottingham and friend Nikkie honored their mother and grandmother, Willie McClain, on her 93rd birthday with a family party at Hillcrest Care and Rehab on Tuesday. Others visiting Willie over the weekend were Jim Swift from Waco, Texas, and Mike, Cindy, Derrick and Britney McClain from Houston, Texas.

Lanna, David and Dillon Jennings spent Saturday night and Sunday with Johnny Ridling.

Danny, Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington have returned home after camping two weeks at Cowhide Cove on Lake Greeson. On Sunday afternoon George and Joy Cox had supper with them. Gary and Gaywyn from Murfreesboro brought the good food and they enjoyed visiting and eating. Others attending were Grant and Gigi Golden and Grant's friend Gina and other friends from Hope.
