HAVE MORE BY DECORATING WITH LESSPublished Wednesday, January 22, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneDecorating our homes doesn't have to cost a fortune. It can be done by utilizing materials we already have on hand or even spending a minimal amount on those items or materials we purchase. We can create clever storage ideas, attractive pillows, and decorated bath towels for a fraction of what it would cost to purchase them ready-made. We can make beautiful fabric covered boxes. We can even recover old lampshades to complement a particular decor while saving money. Why not cross-stitch an inexpensive grass doormat? How about some no-sew throw pillows or curtains without casing? Need new ideas on how to use all of those baskets you ve accumulated over the years? If any of these things have inspired you to make a few changes in your home, then you will definitely want to mark your calendar now for Friday, January 31, for a special program on `Have More by Decorating with Less.' The program will be presented three times 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., 2:00-3:00 p.m., and 5:15-6:15 p.m. The same information will be presented at each of the three times, so choose the time best for you. The program is free of charge. The programs will be held at the Nevada County office of the University of Arkansas, Cooperative Extension Service at 532 West First South in Prescott. Sharon Heidingsfelder, Extension human environment specialist for the University of Arkansas, will be the guest speaker. She will give us dozens of quick and inexpensive tips and techniques for decorating our home. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
