One Arrested In StabbingPublished Wednesday, January 22, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneA 34-year-old Prescott man is being held in connection with a weekend stabbing. According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator with the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and Prescott Police Department, Stanley Pierce was arrested after a confrontation with Terry Walker, 25, also of Prescott, erupted into the stabbing. Walker was stabbed in the abdomen during the altercation, and fled from the scene. He ran to Oliver's One Stop where he called for help. Emergency personnel with the Nevada County Ambulance Service responded, treating Walker at the scene and transporting him to Medical Park Hospital in Hope, where he underwent surgery Saturday evening. As of Monday morning, Walker was in stable condition. Pierce was arrested by PPD Sgt. Tyrone Butler, Sgt. Walt DeYoung and officer Joey Grayson at his home.
