CADC Is Recording HistoryPublished Wednesday, January 22, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesCentral Arkansas Development Council (CADC) will undertake a history of itself to record and document its growth since its beginning in 1965. The project will continue through March 31. Central Arkansas Development Council is one of 19 agencies in Arkansas serving the state's families and communities. It coordinates a wide range of community based activities to encourage the imporvement of the quality of life for residents. A community action program, CADC serves Clark, Hot Spring, Montogomery, Pike and Saline counties. The history project will be an adventure to explore the roots of the CADC as a community action program. CADC staff and customers of CADC will work with Dr. Jan Rosenberg, director of Heritage Education Resources, to develop a strategy for identifying and interviewing those who have been a part of CADC, its development and its activities. Project research and documentation will be achieved and made available for research and educational purposes. At the end of the project, CADC will publish a brief history of the organization to be made available to the public. For more information contact CADC at 332-6215. Articles dated December 1981 through May 2001 were contributed by Ragsdale Printing Company, Inc. Articles June 2001 to ? were contributed by Better Built Group, Inc. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
