I think everyone is ready for some cool weather by now. Think how it was in the days before electricity and be thankful we have fans and air conditioners.

The news is not so good this week. The Hildebrand family received word that Melvin Hildebrand Jr. was seriously injured in an accident at his daughter's birthday party. He was in Denver, Colo., hospital at last report.

Helen Kelley, mother of Kay Nelson, suffered a stroke about two weeks ago and is in the St. Michael Rehabitation Hospital in Texarkana. Please remember her in your prayers. An item from the past: It was 15 years ago that Linda Carman opened her beauty shop in Bluff City.

Someone has said that Adam and Eve had the perfect marriage. He didn't have to hear about all the men she could have married, and she didn't have to hear about the way his mother cooked.
