County Group Attends Arkansas Fair Meeting In Hot Springs

Francis McGill, president of the Clark County Fair Board, attended the Arkansas Fair Managers Association at the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs on January 17 and 18. Others sttending were: Ron and Debbie Matlock, Mildred Welch, Karen Kirkpatrick, Bob McGill and Dick and Carolyn Batson.

The 50th annual meeting provided opportunities for these volunteers from all over the state to meet and share ideas. Emphasized this year was the importance of fairs as a family activity. All state groups were encouraged to get the youth involved in fair activities.

Ron Matlock, County Agent and Francis McGill said they were pleased with the success of the youth of Clark County in 4-H, and FHA State contests. There has been a large increase in attendance at the local fair in the last few years.
