Jarva Mae YoungPublished Wednesday, January 29, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneJarva Mae Young, of San Francisco, Calif., formerly of Rosston, died October 24, 1996, in San Francisco. Born in Rosston, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland and Polly E. Ellis, a graduate of Nevada County Training School in Rosston, a 1943 graduate of AM&N College, now University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She was a member of Bethel AME Church in San Francisco. She was a teacher in Eldorado Elementary School in San Francisco Unified School District, retiring after 30 years. She held memberships in a number of education, civic and social organizations, including California Retired Teachers Association; the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa-Beta Nu Chapter; and Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one sister, Eleanor E. Ellis; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and other relatives. Services were held October 30 at The Bryant Mortuary in San Francisco with Rev. J.
