The squad rallied in the third to regain the lead, at 44-40, and held on for the rest of the contest.

The Lady Jays weren't as fortunate as their male counterparts as they dropped their game to the Lady Bears 38-31.

The problem came from a scoreless first quarter for the Lady Jays, while Bradley's girls were able to put 10 on the board.

From there, the Nevada quintet had an uphill battle and just ran out of time.

They had fought back in the second, but trailed 21-13. By the end of the third period, they had cut the lead to three at 26-23, but fell short in the final period.

Shonda Young led the Lady Jay attack with 13, but fouled out with 5:47 left in the game.

Lakeshia Moore paced Bradley with 13, with teammate Sonya Harris adding 12.

The Lady Jays were three of seven from the line, while Bradley was eight of 18.

Regular season is over for the Nevada teams, as they prepare to host the 7A Central District Tournament.

The top four teams in the league will head to the regional contest in Dierks. According to Rick McAffee, Nevada School superintendent, both Jay teams must win one game to advance to the next level.
