Mattie Sue Blanton

Mattie Sue Frazier Blanton, 75, of Okolona died Friday, February 14, 1997, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

Born February 18, 1921, in Okolona, she was the daughter of the late Vol T. and Maggie May Frazier. She was a graduate of Henderson State Teachers College, a retired school teacher after teaching first and second grades at Okolona for 26 years beginning in 1944. She then taught first and second grades at Prescott for 13 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Okolona.

Survivors include her husband, James. H. `Jim' Blanton; one son, Jim Blanton of Sherman, Texas; one sister, Vollie Wood of Camden; three grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

Services were held Monday, February 17, at Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home chapel with Revs. David Moore and Keith Dodson officiating. Burial was in Center Ridge Cemetery in Okolona under the direction of Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Pallbearers included Jimmy Rowe, Eddie McMaster, George Green, Henry Lynn, Winston Mathis and Johnny Dickerson.
