De Queen and Blevins were the latest victims for the Prescott Curley Wolves.

The Wolves won both games by eight points, as they ended the regular season on a winning note and head into the district tourney as conference runner-up to Fordyce.

Landrith's Legion handled the Leopards 58-50 in a tightly called game by the officials. This, he said, forced the Wolves to play controlled basketball. It also proved they could play the control game, which may be a problem for the rest of the league in the tourney.

The Wolves took the lead in the first quarter, 11-9, and didn't look back. By halftime, Prescott had a 25-18 advantage, and was up 38-31 by the end of three.

Brandon Wilson led the Wolf attack with 21 points. C.D. Flemons went to the rack for 18, while Jason Morrow contributed 10 in the win.

D. Whitmore led the Leopards with 16. T. Vance scored 12 and B. Williamson had 10.

The Wolves shot well from the charity stripe, converting 12 of 19. De Queen was six of seven in free throws.

PRESCOTT 67

BLEVINS 55

The Hornets hosted Prescott to end play in the regular season, and wound up on the short end of a 67-55 score

As has become the norm for the Wolves, the offense didn't come alive until late in the game.

The two squads were deadlocked at 16-16 when the first period ended, but Blevins pulled to a 32-28 lead at the half.

The Wolves rallied in the third to take a 47-42 lead, and blew the Hornets out in the final stanza.

Flemons was unstoppable as he scored 24 points for the Wolves, while Carlos Haynie stepped up and netted 12.

Blevins was paced by T. Turner's 18, while McClure had 15.

Both teams went to the line six times, but Prescott hit four, while Blevins made three.

The Wolves are the second seeded team in the district tourney with their 11-2 conference record. They will take to the hardwood Friday night in semi-final action.

Who the Wolves play and when was not known at press time, as the brackets weren't ready.
