Ruthie Evelyn Shaw

Ruthie Evelyn Francis Shaw, 82, of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, February 12, 1997, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs.

Mrs. Shaw was born January 30, 1915, in Okolona. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Eva McClain Francis. She was a retired employee of Ouachita Baptist University, Henderson State University and Arkadelphia Human Development Center. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union and Curtis Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Joe Shaw.

Survivors include her husband, Merlin Shaw; two sons, Billy Shaw of Hot Springs and Darrell Shaw of Kearney, Mo.; two brothers, Harvey Francis of Grants Pass, Ore., and Rudolph Francis of Orr City, Texas; five sisters, Betty Suggs and Ledie Mae Garner, both of Arkadelphia, Bonnie Ambro of Williams, Ore., Mildren Martin of Henderson, Texas, and Dot Green of Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, February 14, at Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia with Bro. Frank Henson and Bro. James Guthrie officiating. Interment was in Harts Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Curtis Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Ralph Shaw, Steven Shaw, Mark Shaw, Gordon Clay, Larry Nix and Bill Nix. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Miller, Sam Miller and Cory Brown.
