Horizon ExpandingPublished Wednesday, February 19, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesHorizon Bank has received approval from the Arkansas State Bank Department to add two more offices to the company's banking network. The new sites are in Bryant and Hot Springs Village. Each 4,000-sq.- ft. structure is expected to be completed in the fall. The Bryant office will be located at Highway 183 and Interstate 30. The Hot Springs facility will be located near the front gate entrance. The existing Horizon Bank office in Ponderosa Center in Hot Springs Village will continue to operate. Each new facility will be a full-service bank, offering deposit and lending services. Horizon Mortgage Co., Inc., a subsidiary of Horizon Bank, will also have offices in the Bryant building. The mortgage company will specialize in VA, FHA and long-term fixed rate mortgages. Horizon Bank is a $500 million bank that currently has 15 locations in seven southern Arkansas communities, including Arkadelphia and Gurdon. "Our company has been very fortunate the past several years," Ross Whipple, Horizon chairman and chief executive officer, said. "The residential and economic growth this part of our state has experienced during the past decade has allowed us to expand our network, provide more efficient services and has made our products more accessible. "We are committed to the future of our customers and will do our best to provide them with the most up-to-date products and services in the industry," he concluded.
