Jonquil Festival Slated For March 7-9Published Wednesday, February 26, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesThe Jonquil Festival is one of Arkansas' premier arts and crafts fairs with over 150 crafters, antique dealers, civil war reenactors, blacksmith demonstrations, trail riders, entertainment, antique automobiles and engines and much, much more. This year's festival in Old Washington will be March 7, 8 and 9 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. Bask in the beauty of thousands of blooming jonquils that grow throughout the countryside. Entertainment is continuous during the three-day period. Activities will be available for the entire family. Dine at historic Williams' Tavern Restaurant (c. 1832) which serves country-style cooking at its best. Several food concessionaires will be operating on the festival grounds. Tours of the historic homes and museums are ongoing. Tickets may be purchased at the visitor information center located at the 1874 Courthouse (intersection of State Highway 4 and State Highway 195).
