NES Fundraiser A Success

Published Wednesday, February 26, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

Nevada Elementary School recently had a Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser, which was a big success, according to school officials.

The event kicked off on January 30. The students worked very hard getting ready for this event. The participation from both students and parents was outstanding. The event had a very good finance report thus being the first Jump Rope for Heart event at the school.

Children who participated will be awarded with prizes for money they raised by the American Heart Association. Lisa Van Herpen, a representative from the area American Heart Association was present for the day long event.

On Friday, February 17, Sue Ehrgood and eight of her drill team students from Magnet Cove Elementary School performed for the elementary students. The jump rope drill team was fantastic and the students really enjoyed watching all the ways they jumped rope.

This fundraiser was coordinated by Carolyn Toney and Annie Lowe, para-educators at Nevada.
