Fire Under InvestigationPublished Wednesday, February 26, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneA house fire in Rosston Wednesday, Feb. 19, is still being investigated by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas State Police. According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator for the NCSO and Prescott Police Department, the fire was reported to the NCSO around 8 p.m. He said the interior was completely engulfed in flames when the Rosston Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene. Westmoreland lauded the efforts of the Rosston VFD as the crew was able to extinguish the blaze quickly and save the exterior of the structure. ASP investigator Scott Clark was called onto the scene to help with the investigation, which is possibly arson. Because of the ongoing investigation, Westmoreland was unable to release any further information. The home, though, is owned by Jerry and Carolyn Bishop of Rosston, but was occupied by their son, Ramon, at the time. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
