Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, August 4, 1999 in the Gurdon Times We wish to thank Big Star for donating the cake for those who had July birthdays. A group from the center went shopping last week. Some of the Arkadelphia seniors went also. We enjoyed bingo, good singing and games last month. I am sure Martha Bearden has plenty of activities for August. Thanks go to George Peeples, Darrell and Geneva Everitt and Patsy and Jimmy Stiffler for the garden produce they have donated to the center. We also thank all the volunteers who donated their time during July. Our prayers are with those who have lost loved ones this last month and those who are still unable to attend the center. Newspaper articles have been contributed to the Prescott Community Freenet Association as a "current history" of our area. Articles dated December 1981 through May 2001 were contributed by Ragsdale Printing Company, Inc. Articles June 2001 to ? were contributed by Better Built Group, Inc. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
