PHS Ends In Fourth At Indoor MeetPublished Wednesday, March 5, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe fifth annual Arkansas Track Coaches Association Indoor Championships were held on the Razorback facility in Fayetteville this past weekend. "The Wolves had a skeleton crew attend and, even though we were thin in numbers," coach Eddie Jackson said, "we managed a fourth place finish in the AA-A-B division." There were only three Wolves with scoring performances, but several younger athletes peformed well and in many events were only a second away from scoring. The scoring was led by senior Cowin Hopson who, took second in the long jump and a third in the 55- and 200-meter dash. Junior Jason Morrow came right off the basketball floor and took third in the vault with a personal record jump of 13 feet. He entered the 800 and set a state record of 2:07, shattering the old eight-lap time by four full seconds. He opened the man's relay with a great time of 52.1. Brother and teammate Jeremy Morrow scored in the vault with a tied personal record jump. Listed below are some of the competitive events that did not score but needs to be mentioned. Vault: G. Kissleburg, personal record; high jump, D. Harris, personal record; shot put, T. Burton and J. Yates, personal records; 44 hurdles, B. Harris, J. Kisselburg, B. Jordon, personal records; 1600, Brock, Jordan; 55 meter dash, H. Gammage, Jeremy Morrow, personal records; 400 meter, Jeremy Morrow, M. Phillip; 800 meter, A. Hearnsberger; 200 meter, H. Gammage, personal record; 3200 meter, D. Fain, L. Stovall, competed well; and 4x400 relay team of Jason Morrow, Brent Jordan, Brad Harris and J. Kisselburg. The Wolves were scheduled to begin the outdoor season this past Tuesday at Nashville and will host practice meets next week at home.
