Man Charged With BatteryPublished Wednesday, March 5, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneAn 18-month-old child's injuries led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Prescott man Thursday, Feb. 27. According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator with the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and Prescott Police Department, William Hamilton is expected to be charged with first degree battery. The NCSO and Arkansas State Police are investigating injuries suffered by the infant, who is in the Arkansas Children's Hospital at this time. The baby was admitted to Children's Tuesday, Feb. 25, with reported head injuries and broken ribs. Hamilton was reportedly alone with the child, and bathing it at the time the incident occurred.
