Following Arkadelphia TornadoPublished Wednesday, March 5, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesThe South Clark County Jaycees are offering their help in the cleanup aftermath of the tornados that struck Clark County Saturday. This group is teaming up with the Hot Springs and Malvern clubs in order to provide manpower, nonperishables and clothing. Areas effected are Burtsell, Center Ridge and Arkadelphia. The Jaycees are asking for volunteers to assist in the cleanup effort. The South Clark County Jaycees will be meeting March 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gurdon Municipal Building to discuss the plan of action and coordiante efforts with the Hot Springs and Malvern Jaycees. Other Jaycee Chapters aroung the state are setting up drop off points for nonperishables and clothing. Items in great need are nonperishable goods, bottled water and clothing. All South Clark County Jaycees, past and present, are asked to attend this very important meeting. For more information contact Kenneth Harper at 353-4025.
