Landry, a senior at Nevada High School, has been awarded an alumni scholarship to Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. The scholarship has a four-year value of over $7,000 and includes resident tuition as a full-time students. Landry has received the National History and Government Award, the Forestry Award and the Science Award. She was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students , and she is a member of the honor roll. Landry plans to major in veterinary medicine. She is the daughter of Russell and Tracy Landry of Rosston. Jerod Inscore, a senior at Prescott High School, has been awarded a technical scholarship at University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The scholarship is based upon an ACT or grade point average plus a recommendation from a school official. Inscore is the son of Larry and Marri Inscore of Prescott and will be pursuing a major in welding. Brandi Mounce, a senior at Nevada High School, has been awarded a technical scholarship at University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The scholarship is based upon an ACT or grade point average plus a recommendation from a school official. Mounce is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Carlton of Emmet and will pursuing a major in pre-requisite for radiology. The Arkansas Theta Chapter of Alphi Chi inducted 28 new members at its 1997 initiation ceremony on Thursday, February 20, at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. Alpha Chi is a national college honor scholarship society. The initiates of Alpha Chi are elected by the faculty at SAU and represent the top 10 percent of each of the four school's junior and senior classes at Southern Arkansas University. The new members of Alpha Chi include Shelly Browning of Emmet, a junior business education major. She is a graduate of Nevada High School.
