To rehabilitate SW Arkansas Properties -Published Wednesday, March 19, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneSouthwest Arkansas Development Council (SWADC) has received a grant from Arkansas Development Finance Authority to rehabilitate properties in southwest Arkansas. The Housing Rehabilitation Grant will be for owner and renter rehabilitation in Nevada, Hempstead, Miller and Little River counties. The purpose will be to rehibilitate residential properties to meet the minimum standard, as established by Sec. 8 Housing Quality Standards. In order to establish a waiting list of potential applicants, on March 19, 20 and 21, SWADC will be issuing and receiving pre-applications to determine the income eligibility requirement. Applicants meeting the income requirement will be placed on a waiting list in chronological order based on the numbering on the pre-application. Those applicants not meeting the income requirements will be notified by mail. Applicants on the waiting list will then proceed to the next step of ownership verification, residency requirement and owner contribution for rental properties. All applications must be returned by 3:00 p.m. March 21. Household size and yearly income from all sources determine the amount a family is eligible to receive.
