John William GierthPublished Wednesday, March 19, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneJohn William Gierth, 94, of Hope died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Columbia Medical Park Hospital. Born June 24, 1902, in Mart, Texas, he was the son of Willie Max and Louise (Kester) Gierth. He was a farmer and rancher, and a Methodist. Survivors include three sons, John Gierth Jr., Willard Gierth and Roy L. Gierth, all of Prescott; three daughters, Helen Hammock and Jolyn Putz, both of Hope, and Dorothy Wilson of Prescott; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Servcies were held Monday, March 17, at Herndon Funeral Home chapel in Hope with Rev. Paul Choate officiating.
